AAWGT: Making a difference in our community!
2018 Grants Showcase
September 12, 2018The annual Grants Showcase is a highlight of the year for AAWGT. It features presentations by current and prior grantees who share impactful stories that show how, by pooling member resources, we are able to make strategic investments in our community that make a real difference in the lives of women and families.
At the event, the 2018 grantees were introduced. They included Start the Adventure in Reading (STAIR), Anne Arundel County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Anne Arundel County Public Library Foundation Laptop Lab and WiFi Bar at Brooklyn Park Branch, Arundel Child Care Connections: Mujeros Suirgiendo—Women on the Rise, Associated Catholic Charities: Sarah’s House, and Seeds 4 Success: Academic and Career Exploration Club.
2017 grantees each gave short presentations about the important work they do in Anne Arundel County thanks to funds received from AAWGT. 2017 grantees included Anne Arundel County CASA, Anne Arundel Community Action Agency: Green Summer Works, Arundel Lodge/Go GRRLS, Creating Communities Art Education Program, He Opens Paths to Everyone-Transitioning Homeless Families, Planned Parenthood of MD’s Cancer Prevention Program, STAIR, and YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County/Crisis Intervention and Management.
